HTC Incredible S Review

HTC Incredible S feels merely credible compared to some of its competitors. The phone is running Android 2.2 Froyo but can be update to Gingerbread 2.3. The Incredible S comes with 4-inch 800×480 capacitive touchscreen, rather than a 4.3-inch display the same size with Samsung Halaxy S. One advantage these offer is that the icons can now rotate with the phone, so if you are watching a movie, they’ll switch round into landscape.

HTC Incredible S equipped with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor ( not dual core) and 768MB of RAM. There is 1.1GB of internal memory and our review sample came with an 8GB microSD card bundled in the box, although it will accept up to 32GB, if you feel the need for that much memory.

The Phone feels thin when you first look at it, however when holding it , the  thickeness become apparent. The phone have a smooth rubberised finish which makes it odd when holding it. The rubbery, matte-black case seems to rise and fall over the internal components of the phone, giving the handset an attractive, industrial appearance.

The handset measuring 120 x 64 x 11.6mm it is hardly fat; at 135.5g it feels chunkier and more substantial than the Samsung Galaxy S, but is noticeably smaller than another 4-inch rival, the LG Optimus 2X.

Removing the battery cover is relatively easy thanks to a slot at the bottom of the phone, and in doing so you'll see the microSD slot in the bottom left-hand corner. At least we don't have to remove the battery to swap media cards, but surely a covered slot would have been better on the Incredible S.

The Incredible S sports an 8-megapixel camera with a dual LED photo light. We're not big fans of LED photo lights, since they give off a harsh, unflattering light that's likely to blind your subject. But they're still handy if you absolutely must capture a shot in low light. The phone also has a torch app that can harness the LEDs for more mundane tasks, like finding your keys in your handbag.

What Bad

Slightly older version of Androids hence misses out on some bug fixes and speed improvements and is only 1GHz single core processor not dual core.
